Face Lit with Halo Effect

Face Lit with Halo effect

Face lit channel letters with halo effect are similar to the standard channel letters with the difference that these also emit light towards the wall they’re mounted on.

This type of sign consists in an acrylic face with plastic moldings and aluminum returns, just like the standard channel letters. The difference is in the back of the letters that is made of clear plastic. In order to achieve the halo effect, LEDs are installed facing the acrylic face as well as the clear plastic back.

How it works

Halo lit letters can be installed directly on the wall, or mounted on a background; however, they are not installed flush. They need some separation between the surface and the back of the letters to be able to see the light reflected on the wall. The further the spacing between the letters and the surface of the wall the bigger the halo will look. A shorter spacer length will make the halo look smaller but more intense.

Because more LED modules, more materials and labor-intensive installation are required, channel letters with halo effect are more expensive than the standard channel letters.

An average face lit with halo effect sign project of a 10 letter sign, 18 inches of height, sign located at a regular shopping plaza with a sign location between 13 and 20 feet high and no obstacles will range between $4,000 and $6,000 including permit procurement and final inspections.
